The High Court’s order on June 23 had directed the Election Commission to provisionally register PTI, effectively suspending the commission’s May 16 decision to reject the party’s application. The commission had cited issues with the financial details provided by the party.

The Supreme Court’s interim order was issued by Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram on an application from the Election Commission.
