Afghan Border Routes Major Drug Smuggling Channels: Tajik Report

A Tajik anti-drug agency report has identified Afghan border routes as primary channels for drug smuggling into neighboring countries. The report indicates that the Afghan Taliban regime's support for drug smuggling and terrorist elements poses a threat to regional stability. Tajik security forces have conducted operations in border areas, resulting in the killing of 17 Afghan smugglers and the arrest of 18, from whom over 601 kilograms of drugs were recovered. In the first half of the current year, 1 ton and 513 kilograms of drugs were seized at the Afghan border, with drug laboratories reportedly active in Afghanistan.
