Government slashes jet fuel price by Rs 48.80 per litre

The government has significantly reduced the price of jet fuel by Rs 48.80 per litre, providing major relief to the aviation sector. The new price for the fuel is now Rs 283.52 per litre, down from Rs 332.32.

As fuel constitutes a major portion of any airline’s operational costs, the reduction is expected to ease the financial burden on carriers. This could potentially lead to a decrease in both domestic and international airfares, though the final decision will be made by the individual airlines.

In a related move, the price of light diesel oil has also been cut by Rs 30.61 per litre, with the new price set at Rs 244.93 per litre. The new prices are effective immediately.
