KARACHI – Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday highlighted major infrastructure developments in Karachi, declaring them “game-changers” for the city, while also delivering sharp criticism of political opponents.

Speaking to the media during a visit to the Bhutto Avenue track alongside Provincial Minister Nasir Shah, Memon praised the public-private partnership model being utilized for numerous projects across Sindh. He identified Bhutto Avenue as a key project built under this model, which he claimed has also received an award from the United Nations. He also announced that a groundbreaking ceremony would soon be held for a new bridge connecting Karachi Port to Qayyumabad.

Adding to the minister’s remarks, Nasir Shah stated that all major roads in Karachi are being improved. He affirmed that development work is being carried out day and night across the province in line with the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Turning to politics, Memon claimed that the politics of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is “buried,” alleging the party has always practiced the “politics of hate.” He said people still remember MQM’s “dark era” and noted that the party had boycotted and “ran away” from the local body elections.

Regarding speculation about a 28th constitutional amendment, Memon reiterated that the federal government has not contacted the Sindh government. He urged the public not to heed rumours, stating that while amendment drafts are often discussed, the provincial government would only support changes that are beneficial for the people.

Memon also commented on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, calling him a senior and respected politician. He expressed confidence that any political alliances formed against the PPP in future elections would ultimately face defeat.
