Sabeels and Langar Arranged for Ashura Mourners; Sikh Community Provides Support

On the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, special arrangements have been made for ‘langar’ (free meals) and ‘sabeels’ (refreshment stalls) for mourners participating in processions across the country.

In Rawalpindi, free refreshment stalls have been set up along the route of the 10th Muharram procession.

In a show of support, members of the Sikh community have also been providing free meals and drinks to participants.

In Lahore, ‘langar’ (free meals) is being distributed to mark the 10th of Muharram. In one instance of large-scale preparations, over 250 maunds of haleem were reportedly cooked.

Separately, a free medical camp has been established in Quetta to provide facilities for mourners.

In Korangi, the family of the Sindh Governor has set up a ‘sabeel’ (refreshment stall) along the route of the Ashura procession. Separately, special arrangements for ‘sabeel’ and ‘langar’ (free meals) have also been made in Gujrat for mourners.
