Extreme Heatwave in Europe Sees Temperatures Hit 42°C
Parts of Europe are experiencing an extreme heatwave, with reports indicating that temperatures have reached as high as 42 degrees Celsius.

The severe heatwave continuing across Europe has reportedly led to more than 200 deaths in Spain over a four-day period.
In the United Kingdom, an unprecedented red warning for extreme heat was extended, with forecasts predicting a record temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. A 50-year June heat record was broken in Surrey, where the temperature reached 35.7°C, surpassing the 35.6°C recorded in 1976.
France has also been heavily affected, with reports of 50 fatalities as temperatures exceeded 44 degrees for the first time in 80 years. The capital, Paris, also recorded 40 degrees.
Meanwhile, the Italian government has issued a red alert for extreme heat in 16 cities.
