Iran Ties Nuclear Site Access to Final Deal, Sanctions Removal

Iran has stated that any discussions regarding access to its nuclear facilities will only occur as part of a final agreement with the United States. In a statement on the social media platform X, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that issues concerning inspections of recently attacked nuclear sites and matters involving Iran’s nuclear materials would be addressed only after a comprehensive deal is reached and concrete steps are taken to lift US sanctions.

Gharibabadi’s remarks came in response to the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who had earlier expressed expectations that inspectors would gain access to Iran in the near future under an interim arrangement. The Deputy Foreign Minister cautioned that public speculation and media pressure could not be used to force developments before formal agreements are finalized, adding that “media noise cannot be used to impose facts on the ground.”
