Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced in the National Assembly that federal grants provided by all four provinces will be used for important national matters, including defence. He praised the provinces for their role in providing the grants.

During his address, Dar also commented on Pakistan’s foreign policy, stating the country is being recognized as a “peacemaker.” He said Pakistan was the first nation to condemn the attack on Iran and played an active role in de-escalating tensions, with the Prime Minister remaining in contact with his counterparts. According to Dar, these efforts contributed to a temporary ceasefire and facilitated the first direct talks between the US and Iran in 47 years, with Pakistan acting as a mediator.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that oil prices have been falling since the ceasefire. He also mentioned that he had been in contact with his counterparts from 52 countries since February 28.
