Hundreds of Afghan refugees held a protest in Stockholm, Sweden, against the policies of the Taliban administration in Afghanistan. The demonstrators condemned what they described as oppressive policies and the recent killing of protesters in Herat.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans, the protesters called on the international community to take immediate action. They argued that maintaining political or economic ties with the Taliban is a betrayal of Afghan victims and demanded that the Swedish government and the European Union impose a complete ban on visas and entry for Taliban leaders into Europe.

In a related development, the organization World Liberty Congress condemned the violence against protesters in Herat, describing the crackdown on women and journalists in Afghanistan as evidence of “gender apartheid.” The organization suggested that the growing number of such protests globally indicates a rejection of the current administration by the Afghan people.
