In a ceremony in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yusuf announced that intending pilgrims, including those living overseas, can now register online free of charge. Applicants must choose between the government or private Hajj scheme during this initial registration.

In a ceremony in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yusuf announced that intending pilgrims, including those living overseas, can now register online free of charge.

Applicants must choose between the government or private Hajj scheme during this initial registration. While a passport is not required for this first step, it will be mandatory for the booking phase, which will operate on a 'first come, first served' basis. The passport must be valid until at least November 26, 2027. Final costs and other details will be announced later in the Hajj Policy 2027.
