Following the first session of high-level talks in Switzerland under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, a new High Level Committee has been established to provide political oversight. Chief negotiators will lead working groups focused on nuclear matters, sanctions, and monitoring to ensure the implementation of the MoU, which aims for a final deal within 60 days.

Specific mechanisms were also agreed upon to de-escalate regional tensions. A communication line will be formed to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, a de-confliction cell, facilitated by mediators Pakistan and Qatar and including the Lebanese Republic, will be created to ensure the termination of military operations in Lebanon. Technical talks are set to continue throughout the week.
