Acid Attack on Female Doctor in Quetta

The suspect in the acid attack on a female doctor in Quetta has been killed in a police encounter. According to authorities, the accused, an employee of the Civil Hospital, was traced while attempting to flee the city by bus. When asked to surrender, he reportedly opened fire on the police party, who returned fire, resulting in his death.

The injured doctor suffered severe burns to approximately 70 percent of her body and has been shifted to a private hospital. Arrangements are being made for her transfer to Karachi via air ambulance for further treatment. Balochistan’s chief minister and health minister have condemned the attack and directed that all resources be used for the doctor’s care.
