Fourteen under-trial prisoners escaped from a prison van on Monday after overpowering security guards while being transported from Kahuta to Adiala jail. According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, the incident occurred in the Sihala area, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Sihala police station in Islamabad.

Following the escape, police launched a search operation and have since re-arrested four of the prisoners. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining escapees.
