The bravery of the citizen who intervened is a bright spot in this very ugly incident. Now that the FIR is filed, the important thing will be to see the law applied equally and transparently, leading to accountability.

This is a terrifying incident. Thank goodness the driver who was on the bonnet is reportedly safe. It is fortunate there is video evidence and that the traffic police filed the FIR. Hopefully, this leads to a quick identification of the person responsible.

Four remand extensions seems like a significant amount of time. Is there a standard for how long an investigation can rely on physical remand before formal charges with detailed evidence are required?
