Multan butchers’ negligence causes citizen trouble during Eid ul Adha

Health experts have urged the public to exercise caution with their dietary habits during Eid ul Adha to avoid medical emergencies. The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) warned that hospitals typically see a sharp increase in patients with acute gastrointestinal issues due to a sudden shift to heavy, meat-dominated meals. Overindulgence can lead to severe diarrhoea, vomiting, indigestion, and can aggravate conditions for those with hypertension, diabetes, or heart disease.

To prevent health complications, the PMA advises allowing freshly slaughtered meat to rest for a few hours before cooking to make it more digestible. Other recommendations include limiting meat intake, preparing dishes with minimal oil and spices, balancing meals with fresh salads and vegetables, and drinking plenty of water. Experts also caution to eat slowly and chew food properly to prevent choking hazards.

Authorities in Karachi have initiated a crackdown on individuals improperly disposing of animal offal on public streets, arresting numerous people across the city for violating Section 144.

According to a spokesperson for the Karachi Commissioner, arrests were made in various localities, including Model Colony, Jail Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Jamshed Quarters, and Soldier Bazaar. In District Keamari, police arrested eight individuals and registered cases against them based on a complaint from the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, which stated the accused were tearing animal remains on the roads.
