The primary suspect arrested in the murder of a newlywed couple in Malir, identified as the woman’s brother Sajid, has confessed to the crime, according to police. In his statement, Sajid claimed he was pressured to kill his sister and brother-in-law by his sister’s former fiancé, Saeed Gopang.

The suspect alleged that after his sister broke the engagement to marry someone of her own choice, Gopang demanded the return of money and made the murder a condition for settling the dispute. Police are now searching for an accomplice who was reportedly driving the motorcycle used in the attack and remains at large.

The newlywed couple shot dead in Malir were returning from court where the woman had just affirmed she married of her own free will, police have revealed. A case has been registered on the complaint of the deceased husband’s brother, and it was noted the woman’s family had previously filed a disappearance report.

The main suspect, identified as the woman’s brother, was arrested within 15 hours in Gulshan-i-Iqbal based on CCTV footage and technical intelligence. He has confessed to opening fire on the couple. Police are conducting raids to apprehend other suspects.

Police have arrested the brother of the woman shot dead alongside her husband in Karachi’s Malir Saudabad area, with the suspect confessing to the ‘honor’ killing. The suspect, Sajid, was arrested within 15 hours of the crime and admitted to killing his sister, Nadia, and her husband, Najibullah.

During interrogation, Sajid revealed that his sister had been engaged to another man, Saeed Gopang, for Rs 350,000. After she broke the engagement and married Najibullah, Gopang allegedly demanded the money back and pressured Sajid, stating the sister must be killed if the funds were not returned. Police sources said the man driving the motorcycle during the attack was Abid Gopang, the brother of the former fiancé.
