Major Landslides in Gilgit-Baltistan Strand Hundreds of Travelers

Persistent heavy rainfall has triggered multiple large landslides across Gilgit-Baltistan, causing significant travel disruption in the region. The landslides have blocked key routes, including the Karakoram Highway and the Skardu-Gilgit road, at several locations. As a result of the blockages, hundreds of travelers, including tourists and local residents, have been left stranded. Numerous passenger and cargo vehicles are also stuck along the affected roadways.
