Opposition Parties Slam Government Over Fuel Levies and IPP Payments

Opposition figures have sharply criticized the government’s economic policies, particularly the high taxes imposed on petroleum products. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman highlighted that motorcyclists pay hundreds of billions in levies and other taxes, a measure he termed unjust. He also condemned the government for making massive capacity payments to Independent Power Producers (IPPs) while burdening the public, questioning the logic behind these financial decisions.
