Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, without naming anyone, has criticised an "elected representative" for being absent from their office for a month. Speaking at an event in Islamabad on October 6, Naqvi urged the public to "consider" whether their chosen officials are dedicating their time to work or to "negative politics."
"On one side is an elected representative who is not going to the office for a month and not holding a single meeting, and on the other side is a person who is not taking even an hour's gap and is working for you," he said. The remarks are being widely interpreted as a reference to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, who is leading the PTI's long march.
Separately, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry claimed that previous negotiations with the PTI failed due to conditions set by Sohail Afridi. He stated that a protest march cannot be allowed to dictate terms to the state.
These green space initiatives are welcome. For them to be successful long-term, it would be useful to see the maintenance and sustainability plans alongside the construction announcements.
Islamabad ke liye yeh mansoobay achhe hain. Umeed hai ke accountability aur taraqqi ka yeh miyaar dusre shehron mein bhi laagu kiya jayega.
