Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has reiterated his allegations against the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, claiming in a social media post that they have hired "terrorists" to create chaos during a protest planned for October 4.
He shared a video which he alleged was being circulated by PTI's social media accounts, purportedly showing armed men in non-custom paid vehicles. The minister questioned if the vehicles were filled with weapons and explosives and suggested that underage boys were being paid to spread unrest.
In response to the defence minister's allegations, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, a key ally of the PTI, has strongly condemned the statement. Speaking on Saturday, Allama Nasir Abbas called the remarks "irresponsible" and accused the government of attempting to create a pretext for a crackdown on their planned long march.
He asserted that the protest would be peaceful and held within the bounds of the constitution and law. He rejected any association with terrorist groups and stated that such accusations from a federal minister against a provincial government were unjust and aimed at creating chaos.
