US-Iran Talks Fail Amid IRGC Claims of American Warship Withdrawal

Recent talks between the United States and Iran, mediated by Qatar in New York, have reportedly failed to make any progress. According to reports citing sources familiar with the discussions, both sides were unwilling to move from their positions. A two-page draft agreement proposed by Qatar was said to have been considered during the hours-long meetings.

The diplomatic stalemate comes as Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) continues to assert that all US warships have withdrawn from the Persian Gulf. In a new statement, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, claimed the US has resorted to an "air blockade" due to its alleged inability to wage a military war.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance commented that there is still potential for an agreement with Iran, but stated that Tehran must abide by its commitments. He added that the US is negotiating based on practical actions rather than just agreements.
