Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari denies marriage rumours, criticises government

In a video message, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari provided a more specific denial of social media rumours regarding his personal life, stating, “I clarify that nothing as such has taken place; neither do I know any Princess Gloria.”

He also used the statement to criticise the government on other matters, including the recent fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) that resulted in the deaths of 14 infants. He directed criticism at Health Minister Mustafa Kamal over the incident.

Additionally, Mr. Bhutto-Zardari addressed recent discussions about the creation of new provinces, asserting that such decisions must be made through the appropriate provincial assemblies and not through public statements or business forums.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, who also serves as a spokesperson for Mr. Bhutto-Zardari, also took to social media platform X to dismiss the reports, describing them as “incorrect and unfounded.”

In a video statement, the former foreign minister dismissed the speculation, which had linked him to a European royal family. “Social media has gotten my baat pakki, engagement and wedding done. I clarify that nothing as such has taken place; neither do I know any Princess Gloria,” he said.

Mr. Bhutto-Zardari stated that any decision regarding his marriage would be officially announced by his family. He urged the public and media to “focus on the real issues and ignore the social media fuss,” suggesting the rumours were intended to divert attention from more pressing national matters.
