Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Balochistan National Workshop in Quetta on Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif elaborated on his vision for the province, stating that while Balochistan is Pakistan's richest province in terms of resources, its wealth remains buried.
"To ensure that, we will need investment to extract that wealth from the mountains and waters," the prime minister said, adding, "We need expertise, we need the means." He stressed that the federal and provincial governments must work together to deliver this wealth first to the people of Balochistan, and then to the rest of Pakistan.
The prime minister also acknowledged challenges such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security, stating they must be resolved through "mutual consensus and the fair distribution of the available resources."
