Gold price in Pakistan increases by Rs 5,200 per tola

The price of 24-karat gold in Pakistan increased by Rs 5,200 per tola on Friday, August 21, closing the day at Rs 477,136.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also rose by Rs 4,458 to Rs 409,067.

In the international market, the price of gold increased by $52 to settle at $4,547 per ounce.

The price of silver also saw an increase of Rs 210 per tola, reaching a new rate of Rs 7,379.

The price of gold in Pakistan saw a decrease on Friday, August 21, following a period of stability earlier in the day, according to available reports. The exact change in the per-tola rate has not yet been officially announced.

Earlier on Friday, the price for 24-karat gold had held steady at Rs 471,936 per tola after a significant surge the previous day.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price for 22-karat gold was Rs 432,608 per tola, 21-karat gold was Rs 412,944 per tola, and 18-karat gold stood at Rs 353,952 per tola.

Market analysts noted that while gold remains under pressure from a strong U.S. dollar and Federal Reserve monetary policy, demand for safe-haven assets is expected to limit significant price drops. Short-term forecasts suggest potential volatility, with support levels around $3,951 and possible upward movements toward $4,645 internationally.
