Divisions Emerge in Govt Over Imran Khan’s Private Hospital Transfer

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has voiced opposition to the decision to transfer PTI founder Imran Khan to a private hospital, creating a division within the government's stance. Speaking on the matter, Khawaja Asif argued that such a move would set a precedent for all prisoners to demand private medical care. He noted that he and other political figures, including Nawaz Sharif, were treated in government hospitals during their detention. The Defence Minister stated that if there is an opportunity for the government to register its position with the Supreme Court, it should do so. He also commented on what he described as the harsh treatment his party faced during PTI's time in government.

Senior PML-N leader and Advisor to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that the government will implement the Supreme Court's decision regarding the health of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Speaking on Wednesday, Sanaullah clarified that the government has approached the court for "clarification" on the part of the ruling related to a private hospital. He expressed confidence that the matter would be resolved after a hearing and the court's order would then be carried out. Downplaying reports of a rift with coalition partner PPP, he said any issues between allies are resolved through dialogue.
