PTI rejects jail report as medical board details Imran Khan’s health

Following the submission of a report by the Adiala Jail Superintendent to the Supreme Court, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally rejected its contents. The superintendent's report had alleged that a directive against holding media talks within the jail premises had been violated by the former prime minister.

A medical report submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday revealed that PTI founder Imran Khan is suffering from “Level 3 Plus” anxiety, described as severe anxiety and distress. The report was based on an examination conducted by a medical board on August 10, 2026.

According to the findings, the former prime minister's blood pressure was recorded at 140/80 with a pulse rate of 54 beats per minute. While his ECG was normal and he reported no chest pain, he complained of head heaviness and a sensation of a racing heartbeat. The medical board has recommended one hour of daily walking, activities for mental relaxation, and medication for his blood pressure and anxiety. The board also suggested increasing his family meetings.

The report was submitted ahead of a hearing scheduled for Tuesday, where a three-member bench headed by Justice Shahid Waheed will take up a petition filed by Salman Akram Raja regarding Mr. Khan's health and restrictions on meetings.
