KP Assembly Member Advocates for Hazara Province Creation

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly member Syeda Sonia Shah has publicly advocated for the creation of Hazara province, stating it is a constitutional, democratic, and historical right of the people of Hazara. She emphasized that if new provinces are to be established on administrative grounds in the country, Hazara should be the first, as it possesses the full potential to become a separate administrative unit. Shah highlighted that the movement for Hazara province is not a temporary demand but the result of decades of struggle by the people. She also expressed full support for Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi's proposal regarding the establishment of new provinces on administrative grounds.

Amid discussions on new provinces, reports suggest that secret meetings are taking place, with a major announcement expected soon.

Despite earlier rejections and reservations, reports now indicate that the government has agreed to the creation of new provinces, with a federal minister reportedly revealing further details on the matter.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has reportedly backed down from the proposal regarding new provinces. Additionally, Rana Sanaullah stated that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi would be questioned about who provided Rs 500 million.
