Rawalpindi RPO Reviews Chehlum Security Arrangements

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa, accompanied by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani, visited the central Chehlum procession in Rawalpindi. They conducted a detailed review of the procession route and security arrangements. During the visit, CPO Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sakkhera briefed RPO Alpa on the security plan, which included details on entry and exit points, walk-through gates, metal detectors, Safe City cameras, CCTV monitoring, drone surveillance, Elite Force, Ladies Police, and traffic management. RPO Alpa issued directives to ensure all streets and adjacent routes leading to the procession were completely sealed, allowing access only through designated entry points after thorough checks. He also instructed security personnel to remain vigilant, particularly regarding high-rise buildings and sensitive locations along the route, and stressed coordination with district administration, Rescue 1122, the health department, Civil Defence, and traffic police for emergency response.
