Rana Sanaullah and Mohsin Naqvi Face Off on New Provinces

A "face-off" has reportedly occurred between Rana Sanaullah and Mohsin Naqvi regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the creation of new provinces.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has censured the Election Commission (EC) for its alleged inaction on rigging complaints from the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections. He stated that timely action could have restored the credibility of the second phase.

Separately, PPP Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza alleged that attempts are being made to benefit a specific political party in the second phase of the AJK Assembly elections. He reported that a candidate's business centers were sealed, and officials issued threats. Murtaza also claimed that PPP polling agents were denied proper access while PML-N voters were allowed mobile phones at polling stations. He highlighted issues such as a misspelled candidate name on ballot papers, low voter turnout, and a method of rigging involving voters from Kashmir. Murtaza also expressed regret over the martyrdom of Mushtaq, an activist associated with Azad Kashmir Acting President Latif Akbar. Additionally, Sharmila Faruqui has leveled fresh rigging allegations concerning the AJK elections.

PPP leader Chaudhry Yasin has reportedly made "shocking revelations" regarding the AJK elections. He has also alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner is biased against the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has specifically criticized the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chief Election Commissioner.
