China evacuated more than 600,000 people on Saturday as Typhoon Bavi barrels towards the major eastern city of Wenzhou. The typhoon previously impacted Japan’s southern Sakishima island chain with heavy rain and violent winds, and brushed past northern Taiwan. Typhoon Bavi is forecast to make landfall around Wenzhou, a city of approximately 10 million people, in the early hours of Sunday.
