The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the operation on Thursday. The military’s media wing reported that the vessel was experiencing severe flooding.

The Pakistan Navy, in coordination with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), successfully rescued all 20 crew members from a sinking cargo dhow east of Ormara. The vessel, which was transiting from Karachi to the Gulf of Oman, experienced severe flooding exacerbated by deteriorating weather conditions at sea. Upon receiving a distress call, the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) promptly coordinated with the Pakistan Navy to launch an immediate search and rescue operation. Pakistan Navy swiftly deployed surface and air assets, with PNS HUNAIN diverted to the scene and a Sea King helicopter providing aerial surveillance and extraction support. All crew members were safely recovered and are now receiving necessary medical care.
