Pakistan News Desk5 hours ago

The Pakistan Navy, in coordination with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), successfully rescued all 20 Pakistani crew members from a cargo dhow that was on the verge of sinking east of Ormara on July 9, 2026.

The vessel, identified as “Al Hamdan Yaqoob”, began taking on large volumes of water in its engine room and sent an urgent distress call to the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC). In response, the Pakistan Navy diverted PNS HUNAIN and deployed aerial assets for a high-priority rescue mission.

Rescue teams reached the stricken vessel and safely evacuated all 20 crew members. The rescued sailors were subsequently brought ashore and are receiving necessary medical care. This operation highlights the Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and coordination with PMSA in maritime emergency response.
