Flour prices have continued to climb across Pakistan, with the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showing a significant increase in the cost of the essential commodity.

According to the PBS, the maximum price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour has risen to Rs2,900, up from Rs2,800. Karachi remains the most expensive city, where the bag is being sold for the top rate of Rs2,900.

In Punjab, prices for a 20kg bag were recorded at Rs2,420 in Multan, Rs2,400 in Gujranwala and Bahawalpur, Rs2,300 in Faisalabad, and Rs2,250 in Lahore. The persistent rise has added to the financial strain on households, with consumers urging the government to take measures to stabilise the prices of essential items.
