The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a resident of Ghotki for allegedly forging a National Assembly (NA) appointment letter and impersonating a government official, the NA Secretariat confirmed on Saturday.

In a statement, the secretariat said a person named Abdul Wajid falsely represented himself as a Grade-17 employee using a forged letter that also bore the fake signature of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The accused allegedly used the fake status to mislead government officials, obtain undue privileges, and harass citizens.

The NA Secretariat clarified that Wajid has no connection with the assembly and the appointment letter is fraudulent. The arrest was made following a request from the NA Speaker to the FIA Director General and the Sindh police chief to initiate legal proceedings.

The FIA is conducting further investigations to trace the source of the forged document and identify any other individuals involved. The NA Secretariat warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone using forged documents in its name.
