The recent surge in local gold prices is reportedly linked to a corresponding rise in the international market.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs 12,200 per tola on Friday, reaching a new rate of Rs 440,936.

Similarly, the price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs 10,459, climbing to Rs 378,031. The association noted that the domestic price hike was a reflection of a significant increase in the international market, where gold gained $122 to trade at $4,185 per ounce.

The price of silver also saw an increase, with the per tola rate rising by Rs 319 to Rs 6,764. The price of 10 grams of silver went up by Rs 274 to Rs 5,764.

The prices of gold and silver have registered a significant increase in Pakistan, according to available reports.
