Breakthrough in Doha Talks May See $3bn in Iranian Assets Released

A major breakthrough has reportedly been achieved in the US-Iran talks held in Doha, which could lead to the release of $3 billion in frozen Iranian assets. Available reports also indicate that a round of negotiations has been completed.

A sessions court in Lahore on Thursday extended the interim pre-arrest bail for PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife until July 13. Both are facing legal proceedings for allegedly harassing television actress Momina Iqbal.

During the hearing, Additional District and Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqi directed Chadhar and his wife to join the investigation. Chadhar appeared in court, while his wife did not attend, citing health reasons. The judge also instructed the prosecution to submit a progress report at the next hearing.
