Government Reduces LPG Price by Rs 67.30 Per Kilogram for July
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), effective from July 1.
According to a notification, the price of LPG has been cut by Rs 67.30 per kilogram. This brings the cost of an 11.8-kilogram domestic cylinder down by Rs 794.5 to a new price of Rs 2,848.91.
The price adjustment follows a substantial drop in international benchmarks, with the Saudi Aramco Contract Price falling by 25.62% and the US dollar exchange rate decreasing by 0.11%. This translates to an overall price reduction of 21.80% for consumers.
Despite the officially notified price, reports from Punjab, including Lahore, indicate that some retailers continue to sell LPG at inflated rates ranging from Rs 480 to Rs 500 per kilogram.
In response, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has warned of strict action against overcharging and directed authorities to crack down on black marketing and hoarding to ensure compliance with the official prices.
