Islamabad Police Conclude Investigation into Adiala Jail Prisoner Escape
Islamabad Police have reportedly concluded their investigation into the escape of 14 prisoners from Adiala Jail.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered on Tuesday against the 14 prisoners who escaped from a police van while being transported to Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail a day earlier.
The FIR also nominates five police officials for neglecting their duties, which enabled the prisoners to escape. According to the complaint, the fugitives threw red chilli powder into the eyes of the police officials to facilitate their escape.
The incident occurred on Monday at around 4:45 p.m. at the Chakian stop, within the jurisdiction of the Sihala police station in Islamabad. The police driver stated that the prisoners started a commotion inside the vehicle. When he and a constable entered the van to calm them, the prisoners threw the powder and fled.
The prisoners face charges including resistance to lawful apprehension and assault on a public servant, while the police officials are charged with neglect of duty under the Pakistan Penal Code and the Police Ordinance, 2002.
