Sindh Allocates Over Rs 100 Billion for Karachi’s Development
Senior Sindh Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that over 100 billion rupees have been allocated for Karachi in the fiscal year 2026-27 budget. He stated that the development of the city and providing basic facilities to its citizens is the Sindh government’s top priority.
In a statement, Memon detailed that the funds will be directed towards improving water supply, drainage systems, road construction and rehabilitation, and other public amenities. He added that 500 modern buses, including electric and double-decker models, will soon be introduced to the city’s roads to provide modern and safe travel facilities.
“The Pakistan Peoples Party believes in the politics of practical service, not slogans,” Memon said, emphasizing that resolving the issues of Karachi’s residents is the government’s responsibility and commitment.
The senior minister also highlighted that the budget focuses on creating new employment opportunities for the youth through industrial zones, development projects, and large infrastructure schemes. He asserted that the PPP’s political focus has always been on the common person, laborers, farmers, youth, and the middle class, and that the government is utilizing its resources to improve their quality of life.
