OGDCL Begins Oil Production at New Well in Sindh

The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced on Monday that it has commenced production from its exploratory well, Bobi Deep-1, located in the Sanghar district of Sindh.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company stated that the well is currently producing 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD). To facilitate what it termed accelerated monetisation, OGDCL completed the installation of a 1.5-kilometre, 4-inch flowline from the well site to the Bobi Plant in a short period.

OGDCL is the operator of the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease with a 100% working interest. The company stated that the new production will help support domestic energy supplies and reduce reliance on imports.

The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has provided further details on its Bobi Deep-1 well, stating that production is from the Massive Sand of the Lower Goru Formation. The initial discovery of oil and gas at the exploratory well was announced on June 3. The company also noted that the project was executed entirely through indigenous capabilities.
