The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Afghan chargé d’affaires on Sunday night to issue a strong demarche following the terrorist attack on a Rangers facility in Karachi on Saturday.
According to the Foreign Office, the protest was lodged after investigations confirmed the involvement of Afghan nationals, including one attacker who was apprehended alive. The ministry stated that the incident demonstrated the continued use of Afghan soil and nationals for carrying out terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. A similar demarche was also conveyed by Pakistan’s Ambassador in Kabul to the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The attack on the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) headquarters in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Saturday night resulted in three security personnel martyred and four injured. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had stated that three terrorists were killed in retaliatory action.
