The Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Foreign Minister of Iran have held a telephone conversation, according to available reports.

The contact between the two officials comes amid rising regional tensions in the Middle East.

Iran’s Civil Aviation has announced that passenger flights between Tehran and Dubai will resume from 1 July.

The head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, Majid Akhwan, stated that both Iranian and Emirati aviation authorities have issued the necessary permits for the resumption.

Initially, Iranian airlines will operate on the route, with other carriers expected to follow. The statement also noted that the restoration of other international routes is under review and subject to government approval.
