Humid weather and partly cloudy skies are expected in Karachi over the next 24 hours, with a possibility of light drizzle in isolated areas during the morning and night.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature in the city is forecast to be between 34°C and 36°C, with a recorded minimum of 29°C. The humidity level was measured at 78 percent, and sea winds were blowing at approximately 15 kilometres per hour.

Elsewhere in the country, Peshawar is expected to experience hot and dry conditions with a maximum temperature reaching 41°C. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is forecast for the upper districts within the next 24 hours, while hot weather will persist in the province’s plain areas.

The national weather outlook for June indicates that above-normal temperatures are likely to continue across many parts of the country. Eastern Balochistan, western Sindh, and central Punjab may see higher-than-average temperatures, increasing the risk of heatwave conditions.

Official data showed that Sindh received only 0.3 millimetres of rainfall in May, significantly below its long-term average of 3.1 millimetres. The province’s average temperature during the month was recorded at 35.2°C, about one degree Celsius above normal.

For June, rainfall is expected to be near-normal to slightly below-normal nationwide. The national weather authority has cautioned that despite this, isolated heavy downpours during the monsoon season could lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of major cities. Citizens have been advised to take precautions during periods of extreme heat and heavy rainfall.
