Security on High Alert for 11 Days for Muharram, Says Uzma Bukhari
In a media talk on Friday, Uzma Bukhari announced that security will be on high alert for 11 days as part of the arrangements for Muharram.
Ms. Bukhari stated that monitoring is being conducted through Safe City cameras and that overall security measures have been strengthened.
She also noted that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is overseeing the security arrangements for the religious observance.

As part of security measures for Muharram, mobile internet services have been suspended in some areas. The Safe City Authority is also conducting full monitoring of Ashura procession routes.
