United States Energy Secretary Chris Wright has announced that 20 million barrels of crude oil were dispatched to global markets through the Strait of Hormuz within a 24-hour period. Speaking at the World Energy Forum in New York, Wright noted that while oil shipments are proceeding, there are obstacles to the full normalisation of global oil tanker traffic.

He claimed that delays in restoring normal oil transit are being caused by mines allegedly laid by Iran in the critical waterway. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital route for global energy supplies, and any disruption can significantly impact international oil markets.
