Qatar’s Emir congratulates PM Shehbaz on diplomatic success in phone call
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Emir of Qatar held a phone call to discuss bilateral relations, according to reports on Wednesday.
During the conversation, the Qatari leader congratulated the prime minister on a recent diplomatic success for Pakistan.

In a phone call on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for Doha’s “steadfast support” which contributed to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed by the US and Iran on June 18.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders welcomed the “positive progress” from the first round of technical talks held in Switzerland and agreed on the importance of continued dialogue. The Prime Minister also thanked the Emir for his condolences over the death of a Pakistani national in a recent fire at Qatar’s Ras Laffan liquefied natural gas complex. Mr. Sharif praised Qatar’s hospitality towards the Pakistani community and noted that Islamabad looks forward to hosting the Emir later this year.
