Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed satisfaction at the “successful conclusion” of the high-level meeting between the United States and Iran in Switzerland. In his first remarks after the talks, he stated that Pakistan will continue to play an “honest and sincere” role in advancing dialogue.

In a social media post, the prime minister noted that the discussions yielded encouraging progress, including a 60-day roadmap towards a final deal. He commended the leadership of both the US and Iran for their commitment to constructive engagement and thanked Qatar for its “critical support” in the mediation process.

PM Shehbaz also paid a “special tribute” to Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, stating his “unwavering efforts” were commendable and essential for the progress made.
