Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed satisfaction over the successful outcome of US-Iran talks held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, under the framework of the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’. He highlighted that the constructive discussions resulted in an agreed roadmap for a final agreement within 60 days, the formation of a senior-level political coordination committee, and the launch of further technical talks.
In a statement, Sharif paid special tribute to Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, crediting his ‘instrumental’ and ‘persistent efforts’ for the breakthrough. He also extended appreciation to Qatar for its important contribution in facilitating the negotiations and thanked the Swiss government for hosting the event.
