Iran Reaffirms Uranium Enrichment Rights, Stays Firm on Lebanon

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that under the preliminary agreement reached with the United States, $6 billion of Iran’s frozen funds held in Qatar will be returned. In a recent statement, Pezeshkian claimed that all clauses of the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ are favorable to Iran and that its successes will soon become apparent.

According to the Iranian president, the sole US demand was a written commitment that Iran would not pursue nuclear weapons, a position he said aligns with Iran’s own stated policy. He reiterated that Iran will not abandon its right to uranium enrichment, a right he claims the US has now been forced to recognize. Pezeshkian also identified Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as being the most displeased with the diplomatic breakthrough.
