Storm Alert Issued: Heavy Rains Expected Across Region

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide advisory for thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy rainfall expected over the next 12 to 24 hours. The weather system could trigger urban flooding, flash floods, landslides, and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs) in vulnerable areas, particularly in mountainous regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir.

Rain is predicted across Punjab, including Rawalpindi and Lahore, as well as in KP, AJK, GB, and parts of Balochistan and Sindh. The NDMA has directed provincial and district authorities to remain on high alert and has advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel to northern areas.
